Retirement Quotes by Real People

Being retired myself, I came up with the first few of these myself. Then I asked our Facebook friends for retirement quotes and came up with a few more. I found these sentiments are shared by a lot of fellow retirees so you so my have heard these saying before. If you agree with some of these, please like this page. -Thanks, Robert

enjoying my retirement
enjoying my retirement

Put this on Retirement Media facebook and got almost a hundred shares within the first few hours. Must have hit a hot spot. I think next time I should add “enjoyment every minute of my retirement” because that is what  a few people said in their comments.

doing what I want when I want-retired
Doing what I want when I want

Retirement gives the freedom to do with your time as you will. This is a main theme of retirement lovers.

Retired and loving it!
Retired and loving it!

Retired and Living it! Just letting people know you are retired and loving it.

Retired Life is Seven Day Weekends!
Retired Life is Seven Day Weekends!

In retirement, everyday is your weekend. Thanks to Fred and Terry for this retirement quote above.

Never been busier than in retirement
Never been busier than in retirement

This is a very common and often repeated quote about retirement from my friends.  So are so busy in retirement we are wondering how we got it all done before.

Less is more in retirement
Less is more in retirement

Thanks to my friend Ann for this quote.  Downsizing, simplifying and minimalism is also another theme we hear when talking about their retirement.

Enjoying Busy My Way
Enjoying Busy My Way

Fred came up with the above jewel. Never thought of it this way, but now that I do, it makes perfect sense. We still want to be busy in retirement, but just to do it our way for a change!

Master of your own schedule
Master of your own schedule

Thanks to Randy for the above quote about retirement. A variation of doing what you want, WHEN you want.  A classic!

LIve Everyday! You only Die once.

Thanks to my sister in law Kathy for this one! It turned out to be one of the most popular retirement quotes and visually pleasing graphic, if I say so myself, don’t you think.  I have heard a variation of this being Life your life as you only have one life to life.  I think Kathy’s version is better.

I don't get bitter, I get better
I don’t get bitter, I get better

I love the above quote by Drake, a Rap star.  It certainly applies to retirement.

Do what I want to, when I want to, rather than what someone else wants when they want it
Do what I want to, when I want to, rather than what someone else wants when they want it

Above quote is from Larry and is nicely said.

Retirement - When Work is Optional and Play is Affordable
Retirement – When Work is Optional and Play is Affordable

Thanks to Fred for the above retirement quote. Funny how everybody has their own way of saying it.

There's more to life than pursuing your vocation.
There’s more to life than pursuing your vocation.

Thanks to Robin at RetirementYenta for the above quote.

I'm Retired. Go Around.
I’m Retired. Go Around.

Thanks to Ron Spoto on Google + for letting me know about this.

Retirement is what you make it
Retirement is what you make it

This is so simple but some people do not get it. Retirement is what you make it.  Some people have a preconceived idea of what retirement is or should be. Like people who say I don’t want to retire because I don’t want to sit home and do nothing.  Well they need to be introduced to the modern idea of active retirement.

The Money Is No Better in Retirement But The Hours Are!
The Money Is No Better in Retirement But The Hours Are!

Common sentiment among us retirees! Spending your hours the way you want to is priceless.

If you have a retirement quote from your own life or that you have heard and it rings true, please add in to the comments below. Thanks.  Robert, Retirement Media
