Retirement Activities

Retirement is about doing the things you want to do, when you want to do them.

So on a rainy day after getting my haircut as I was driving back to my home at Village at Deaton Creek, a Del Webb Community, I decided to stop at the State Arboretum of Georgia while the rain subsided for a while. I was the only one there on the 330 acres as far as I could tell. It was beautiful.

I was not in a rush, so I walked around admiring the beautiful colors and reading the tree specimen signs. On another day, when it’s dryer, I will return since it’s only 10 minutes from my home and walk on the trail I noticed. Here are some pictures from today.

Love the contrast. That tree trunk really was that black.

For residents of Village at Deaton Creek, this place is so close but is hard to find. The address is  New Liberty Church Rd, Braselton, GA 30517.  Take a left on Liberty Church Road right past the Ace Hardware, then left at the white church, then it will be on your left.

Also catch my posts about the Mulberry Creek RiverWalk and Walking Places.

There are lots of things to do around Braselton GA and the Friendship Rd area is turning into a retirement paradise. Del Webb has announced a second new community to be called Del Webb Chateau Elan.  This page lists the Best Active Adult Communities in Georgia.
