Retirement Living Blog Posts

Not everyone living in a 55+ retirement community is retired, but just about everyone is living the retirement lifestyle.

I started sliding into the retirement lifestyle about 10 years ago at which time I started blogging about my journey, even back then. I have blogged on three blogs before starting this one. Going through some of my prior posts, I selected some to share with you.

A fun post to write was “10 Reasons Food Tours Are A Good Idea“.  We have taken several and love them. Next time you are in a new city for a day or so, see if they have a Food Tour and you will be glad you did.

A long time ago I wrote this one about “Age 55 Perks and Benefits” that has been popular. At least we get something for getting old, huh.

You know how hard it is to find a good movie these days. My post “Movies for Baby Boomers and Seniors” is a real workhorse with up to date movies you will like. There are some of my all time favorite movies, current picks from AARP Movies for Grown Ups. Check it out.

One of my favorite posts to write is “Cruise Travel Tips“. Yes sir, had to do a lot of research for that one. On some of the 25 cruises Mary Ann and I have taken, I asked people why they like to cruise.

BlogBoomerPlaces_LogoThe above four posts are on my blog Boomer Places which I still post to. It is a fun blog and being 68 puts me at the leading edge of the baby boomer generation, so I just do posts things as I live it.

STR-logoMy first blog going all the way back to 2006 is Small Town Retirement and my most recent blog post there is “Observations About Moving To A Small Town“.  See if you agree.  I started this blog when I was looking for small towns to retire to. We were up at Big Canoe in the North Georgia Mountains in 2006 when the idea came to me to start a blog. I like to blog about what is happening in my life, so this one is kind of loosing out to this, my active adult living blog.

On another blog at Retirement Media, I did a hard to write post titled “A Retirement Move Can Be Hard“.

But my current blog seems to be the easiest to write as I am excited about living here at Village at Deaton Creek so stay tuned. I am going to try to churn out a blog post every week, to be published on Sunday AM. During the week, I may post some of my “Wordless Pics“, from around the community.

Just came across your blog – interesting! I also blog about retirement and Boomers in general. Fun topic and now that I am retired – AWESOME lifestyle! Not as prolific blogging now (other writing gets in the way!) but love to read them and I still throw one up now and then. Now for that lottery win……………. 🙂

You have an awesome articles! I like it..In fact I can relate your stories in my podcasts too. I interviewed retirees and they have similar stories. I like that your writing is from you own retirement experiences
